US President Donald Trump on Sunday dismissed reports of a rift with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling them “fake news.”Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One: “That’s another fake news – Bibi and I had an argument. No, we get along very well. He’ll tell you we’re running the whole thing. They may or may not say it. It doesn’t matter to me. My relationship with Bibi Netanyahu is extraordinary. “He added, “We get along really well. He will tell you we are leading the whole thing. He can say otherwise and the most important thing is to get things done. I would say my relationship with Netanyahu is actually excellent.”The comments come as the United States and Israel continue military action against Iran, a conflict that has destabilized the Middle East and roiled global markets.According to officials, the bombing has displaced more than 3 million people and caused severe damage to infrastructure, while global fuel prices continue to soar.Previously, the New York Times reported that Trump and Netanyahu share common short-term military goals, including destroying Iran’s missile systems, nuclear facilities, naval power and weapons production. However, their long-term goals appear to diverge. Trump has emphasized weakening Iran and pushing the country to negotiate, while Netanyahu reportedly seeks regime change and eliminate Iran’s regional influence. At the same time, Trump is also facing domestic pressure. As the midterm elections approach, public support for the conflict remains low and many Americans are wary of a protracted war.Experts say that once Iran’s military capabilities are sufficiently weakened, Trump may seek a quicker solution rather than pursue full regime change.
