As the current annual Umrah season draws to a close, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the final deadline for issuing visas, entering the kingdom and allowing pilgrims to stay. The ministry also reminded companies and pilgrims that a specific Hajj visa is required to perform the Hajj and cannot be performed using an Umrah visa. The ministry clarified that the last date for issuance of Umrah visa for the current season will be the first day of Shawal. Pilgrims holding Umrah visas will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until the fifteenth day of Shawar, while their last date of stay in the kingdom will be the first of Duhulqada. After this date, Umrah pilgrims are expected to complete their visit and leave the country. The news was announced during the 17th regular meeting between the Hajj and Umrah Ministry and the Saudi Umrah Company, which took place virtually on Saturday. During the meeting, officials stressed the need to strictly adhere to rules for the upcoming Hajj season. The ministry reiterated that Hajj rituals must be performed only with a valid Hajj visa, stressing that Umrah visas cannot be used for Hajj. Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, addressed the meeting and praised Umrah companies for their cooperation and efforts during Ramadan. He acknowledged their role in serving pilgrims, resolving cases involving stranded Umrah pilgrims and helping them return home. The minister also stressed the importance of continuing to follow all operational guidelines related to the Umrah season. This includes ensuring pilgrims arrive at the airport on a staggered schedule and regularly updating pilgrim departure information through the Nusk Masar platform, which manages visitor travel and service data. Dr. Al-Rabiah also invited Umrah companies to participate in the 3rd Umrah and Visits Forum in 2026, which aims to bring together industry partners and organizations involved in pilgrimage services. During the meeting, officials reviewed key indicators of the current Umrah season and highlighted the achievements so far. Discussions also touched on preparations for the upcoming Umrah and Visits Forum, including its role in strengthening partnerships, exchanging expertise between service providers and providing opportunities to improve services provided to pilgrims and tourists. The meeting was part of regular consultations organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and Umrah companies. These meetings are designed to enhance coordination with sector partners, monitor service developments and ensure pilgrims are better supported throughout their journey. The initiative also aligns with the broader goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the overall experience for Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Kingdom.
