New Delhi: Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat was admitted to hospital after sustaining a shoulder injury during the second ODI match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday.The incident occurred in the sixth over of Bangladesh’s chase when Talat rushed to deep to cover the boundary and blocked Litton Das’ shot after receiving a delivery from Mohammad Wasim Jr. As he tried to pull the ball back from the boundary, Talaat stepped on the foam padding and hit the advertising board.

His left shoulder hit the ground hard and looked painful. Team staff and players rushed to his aid before a stretcher was carried onto the pitch and he was taken to a nearby ambulance.Later, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that Talat suffered a shoulder injury and was sent to the hospital for further examination. The PCB said in a media release: “Talaat received immediate medical attention from the medical staff of the on-site team. After an initial assessment, he has been sent to hospital for detailed examination. The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after further medical assessment is completed by doctors.”Earlier in the match, Pakistan were bowled out for 274 in 47.3 overs after batting first. Maaz Sadaqat shot a quick 75, Salman Agha shot 64 and Mohammad Rizwan shot 44.Bangladesh struggled in this chase and were 27/3 in 6.3 overs, with Shaheen Afridi taking two wickets and Mohammad Wasim Jr taking one before rain interrupted play. When play was suspended, Bangladesh needed 248 runs.
