The earthquake shook some areas westchester countyNew York, Tuesday morning, CBS News reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.3 earthquake occurred in Sleepy Hollow. New Yorkat approximately 10:15 a.m., was recorded at a depth of approximately 4.5 miles below the surface.
Sleepy Hollow is located about 25 miles north of fof new york city.
Sleepy Hollow is a famous tourist attraction in the Northeast, famous for the bizarre story of the headless horseman in Washington Irving’s famous short story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” published in 1820.
More than 300 people reported to the U.S. Geological Survey that they experienced the earthquake.
According to the New York City Emergency Management Department, the earthquake could occur in the Bronx and other surrounding areas.
There have been no reports of direct damage in the area.
Since 1950, only 20 earthquakes of magnitude 2.3 or above have occurred in the area, making such events quite rare.
