The X community provides the following background information, explain “The senator described this as a ‘de-escalation,’ but the full video/report shows him working with police to grab the Marine’s leg and then break his arm. Reports say the protester was treated for his injuries. He protested that the Marine was not there to initiate a confrontation.”

McInnis is a member of the Green Party and a former firefighter. He is running for Senate in North Carolina. To do this, he started a GoFundMe and shared it on X.
